Hi, loves! Emma here. I’ve been admiring night wedding ideas lately and each one I stumble upon is lovelier than the last. So, I decided, enough is enough: time to share ’em! Night Wedding Ideas
1. A Candlelit Sweetheart Table.
Ah, so romantic…
2. Send lanterns into the sky.
Releasing sky lanterns are a beautiful way to kick off the start of the reception… or right before your grand exit at the end of the night. You can find white sky lanterns here.
3. Luminaries along the aisle.
Use luminary bags and these to light the aisle way.
4. A glowing arbor. Oceanfront view. First kiss.
5. This awesome custom neon sign with your names on it.
YES! I love this! By NARWALL. You can see a ton of cool inspiration and other designs here.
5. Cascading lights hanging from trees.
Now, this is a good idea for EVERY backyard and outdoor nighttime setting, wouldn’t you agree? Stealing this and putting twinkle lights on all the trees.
6. Extra long fairy twinkle lights like THIS.
Holy smokes, this looks AMAZING! By OneStepTimers.
These lights look warm and inviting for an outdoor reception table setup at night, like this one! By PerfectHoliday.
Or wrap these leaf lights around trees, branches, or overhangs that need a little extra decor. By OhPartyDays.
Indoors or outdoors, the head table looks elegant with tulle and lighting, like this style by ElectricCrowns.
7. Chandeliers. And table lanterns. And that gorgeous tide.
And, I couldn’t help tossing this one in, too. How the lighting is devised to look so effortless, I’ll never know; but this must take a lot of work to bring to fruition. At any rate, it’s gorgeous, don’t you think?
8. Bonfire.
Note: Hay bales make excellent seating (and cozy blankets in baskets are a nice touch for guests in the fall).
9. Lanterns Down the Aisle Instead of Flowers
Have your bridesmaids carry candle lanterns instead of bouquets. This Moroccan inspired style is one example that is trending right now. By tonidecoreshop.
These classic stainless silver lanterns are always a popular choice! By Moonlight Weddings.
10. These Take-Home Lantern Wedding Favors
For a night wedding, give favors that double as beautiful decor and romantic lighting! These lanterns are beautiful. By Memorable Party Favors.
Or place these wine bottle lights wherever you see fit (by PurrlsPlace).
And obviously any of these mason jars filled with fairy lights EVERYWHERE! By TheFarmersWifee.
You can turn them into hanging lanterns with these cool lantern wires/hangers by TreasureAgain.
11. Sparklers + a Grand Exit
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I love sparkler grand exits! They’re especially fitting for a night wedding. (Don’t forget to read this!)
A ‘love’ sparkler photo like this with bridesmaids is another cute idea.
12. Hanging Glass Orbs with Candles
Hang these glass orbs from tree branches throughout your outdoor wedding. Place battery operated tealight candles inside the glass orbs for a romantic look at night.
Or these! By RevelryPartyCompany.

I love the concept, I am currently planning my wedding for June and would love to do this but I can’t wrap my head around how the order of events works at nighttime, do people have dinner this late? Will people want to show up to my event that late? It doesn’t get dark here in june until around 8.
Would love to know if you have figured it out seeing I am struggling with the same thing. This is what I want in August and am wondering how to do it.
My second reply
I have a swing set in my backyard and want to place lights all around it and have bridal party in the treehouse (has no roof on it) and us below with a chandelier and lights all around. I’m scared I won’t get this fantasy though if weather don’t allow.
Granddaughter would love this book.
Such beautiful ideas, fairy lights really can make all the difference for a perfect wedding night.
So true, Emily! Fairy lights will really illuminate any wedding space. Thanks for stopping by!
