Brides: are you planning / considering / dreaming of a shabby chic wedding? You’ve come to the right place! We’ll show you how to plan a shabby chic inspired linen and lace wedding using handmade accessories. Whether you need a stunning lace gown, a linen handkerchief for the groom, a linen flower girl dress and basket, ring pillow, or backdrop decor for your reception, you’ll find it all right here. A linen and lace wedding falls under the wedding theme of ‘shabby chic’. We recommend using linen and lace wedding accents with other shabby chic details (see the DIY shabby chic photo display, shabby chic wedding, and 5 shabby chic wedding ideas for inspiration). And, since linen and lace are neturals, don’t be afraid to add in pops of color throughout your decor to keep things fresh + exciting. Ready to get started? Let’s go!
Linen and Lace Wedding
The easiest way to tie lace into your wedding ensemble is with the gown, of course! This lace wedding dress (spotted at Grace Loves Lace) is one of my favorites. The lace veil, lacy wedding necklace (for yourself or your bridesmaids!), lace embellished heels, a garter, linen and lace wedding hair flower, and a coordinating clutch purse make lovely accents for this theme.

When shopping for invitations, look for invites printed on linen paper or cardstock along with a lace belly band or lacy border.
For the flower girl, look for one made of linen. Pair the look with a matching linen basket, shoes, and a headband.
The ring bearer can wear a linen suit or hand-picked accents like a linen bowtie, suspenders, and a hat. Linen shoes complete the look, and a linen and lace wedding ring pillow will become a lasting wedding keepsake for you.
Tie in this theme with your groom with linen cuff links, a linen pocket square, bow tie, handkerchief, and a last-forever boutonniere made of burlap, lace, and a (faux) flower sprig.

For your reception, use linen table runners to dress up your tables (whether on wood tables or atop white linens), hang garland behind your cake table, use lace embroidery hoops to create a photo booth backdrop, and use lace-wrapped mason jars as makeshift vases for your centerpieces. Have guests sign a linen wedding album in lieu of a guest book (or use it to display your wedding photos after the big day).
