Cupcake Boxes for Wedding Favors
Move over, donuts! OK, ok, donuts will always make me go nuts, but I’m simultaneously going crazy for cupcakes. Cupcake favors are climbing steadily to the top of our edible wedding favors list and for good reason. You can custom-make or order any flavor your heart desires (like butter pecan, red velvet, chocolate, peanut butter, sprinkle confetti… the list goes on. If you love cupcakes like me, and, like 8 million people, giving individual cupcakes to guests as wedding favors is really a win-win. You spend your wedding favors budget on something guests will really enjoy, and you won’t worry about any leftovers because edible favors are always the first to go!
All you need are cupcakes and cupcake boxes. And somehow, brides have been having a hard time figuring out just what kind of cupcake boxes to use for individual cupcakes. So we’re swooping in to help! Any way I can sweeten the world with more cupcakes, I’m game!
If you want to display cupcakes first, you’ll place them on a cupcake tower. You can choose an acrylic cupcake tower (like this, which is really inexpensive). If you prefer a rustic look, opt for a wood cupcake tower you can re-use later, like this from Works of Woods:
Or this rustic wood cupcake tower from Rustic Wood Slices:
Oh, and you don’t have to choose between cake OR cupcakes. Why not have both? You can place your cake on a cake stand in between two beautiful cupcake towers (by PrimitiveArts):
This is such a beautiful wood cake stand! By TheFlowerPatch.
And I LOOOOVE this cake and cupcake stand handmade by SweetNCCollective. It is the best of both worlds!
Doesn’t it look scrumptious? After guests have indulged, you can place the leftover treats in cupcake boxes for guests to take home. Alternatively, you can place pre-boxed cupcakes in individual cupcake boxes and place them at each guest’s seat. This way, when it’s time for dessert, guests already have a cupcake in hand.
This way, if you’re giving cupcakes as wedding favors, guests won’t miss the cupcakes on a side table; it will be right in front of them (so you won’t have a ton of leftovers).
Cupcake boxes are an easy way to pack up those sweet (sticky! messy! crumbly!) cupcakes so guests don’t have them fall frosting-side-down on the floor of their car. Or the floor of their Uber’s car. ;)
But what kind of individual cupcake boxes should you use for wedding favors? It really depends on what you’re going for. There are generally three types of cupcake favor boxes on the market right now:
– CLEAR CUPCAKE BOXES –
If you want something that is see-through, cupcake boxes with clear transparent plastic will be your best bet.
– CARDBOARD CUPCAKE BOXES –
If you want something more decorative, cupcake boxes made of white or brown cardboard are an easy choice; they can also be easily personalized with a cute sticker label on the top or side.
– CARDBOARD + WINDOW CUPCAKE BOXES –
Want a little of both? Choose cupcake boxes with cardboard sides and a small see-through window, either on top or on the side.
Lucky for you, we’ve found all kinds of cupcake boxes on the web you can buy: see-through cupcake boxes that can look pretty on your reception tables, cardboard boxes that are easy to personalize and stack on your cake table, or a mix of cardboard and clear plastic boxes so guests can choose any flavor they love.
