Plastic Wedding Cups
Hi, lovelies! If you’re wondering where to buy wedding plastic cups in bulk, guess what? We found them, thanks to this recent Ask Emmaline question by bride-to-be, Rachel. She writes,
“Hi Emmaline Bride, I have a few questions. Where can I get wedding cups for guests to use? We’re planning an outdoor wedding in August and I’d like some fun cups at the bar. I’m buying a lot of them, so if you know the best place to find personalized cups in bulk, I would appreciate it. Also, what size of cups do you recommend? And how many do I need to buy? I’m expecting 150 guests, do I buy one cup per person? Thank you!”
Hi Rachel! Great question! Let’s tackle these questions individually — you wrote with great ones! :)
How many plastic cups do you need for a wedding?
The number of plastic cups you need to order for your wedding depends on if these cups are the ONLY beverage cups you’re offering. If you are adding these personalized cups for fun or giving the stadium cups out as favors (we’ll show those in a minute), you need less than if you’re using these cups solely at your wedding bar.
IF you’re offering wedding cups for drinks of all kinds — all night long — you need to order approximately one cup per hour per guest, as an estimate. (Note: get separate coffee cups like these for the coffee bar.)
And as a tip, to ensure you don’t go through too many cups for water alone, offer water bottles to guests separately. This will ensure you don’t run out of cups for the bar too quickly (and your guests will be happy + hydrated!)
Where to Buy Plastic Wedding Cups in Bulk
So, we did some digging and the price of plastic wedding cups bulk vs. non-bulk is significantly different, so you’re right! If you’re buying a lot of them at once — I mean, one per person per hour definitely amounts to LOTS of cups — definitely get them in bulk. I’m pretty sure the price has to do with how many of a personalized print run they do for a custom order, so you’ll get better deals with bulk pricing on cups (the same applies generally with invitations, personalized napkins, koozies, personalized wedding favors, etc.)
As a bonus, you’ll save on shipping costs when you get your wedding cups in bulk. Buy once, shipped all at one time. Win-win.
So, where do you buy personalized cups for weddings with the best pricing for bulk orders? And not just any wedding cups, but the kind of plastic cups that are beautifully made and will have guests asking you where you got ’em?
That’s easy!
We spotted these plastic wedding cups at Rubi and Lib. You probably remember them featured for other fun things: these “don’t take my drink, I’m dancing” coasters are a personal favorite of mine, as well as these cool fun fact wedding napkins. They’re awesome!
Their personalized wedding cups are fun + stylish, great for your wedding bar, and fab for summer.
What size plastic wedding cups to order?
Great question: what size cups should you buy? Rubi + Lib offer different cup sizes and styles, along with this helpful chart to show you how the cup sizes compare.
Isn’t that helpful? Here are common sizes for wedding cups and what you plan to use them for, as a guide.
WEDDING CUP SIZES + USES
8 oz – ice cream or children’s cups
9 oz – (wine) – smallest recommended for wine
10 oz – wine
12 + 14oz – mixed & signature drinks
16 oz – beer, soft drinks, tea
Speaking of…
Can you drink wine out of plastic cups at weddings?
Why the heck not! Obviously, if it is an outdoor wedding reception and you’re using elegant cups, like any of these, the answer is yes! If you’re planning a wedding with glassware at the ready, then use wine glasses, if possible.
You can also choose these specialty wine glasses, also plastic, but they are perfect for serving wine at your wedding.
:) It’s your wedding, you do you!
Anyways, let’s get to the cups: here are some charming plastic wedding cups you can buy in bulk — for cheap! — and they look beautiful. For more styles, see the shop.
