Hi, loves! Emma here. When you’re planning your wedding, picking a theme is essential. Without a theme, planning can feel daunting and not much fun at all. But with the right theme — one that really inspires you — everything will fall into place and planning will suddenly be a lot more fun. It seems Erin and Tim knew exactly what they were looking for when they chose a fairytale wedding theme. They wanted something totally creative and whimsical; they love fictional characters (like Harry Potter), medieval elements (like King Arthur / gothic details), and romantic scenery (gardens and forests), so fairytale weddings piqued their interest immediately. It was an excellent fit because their medieval themed fairytale wedding is the coolest and most inspiring we’ve ever seen.
With the best wedding pros at their side like Melissa Prosser Photography behind the lens, the spectacular Chattahoochee Nature Center for the ceremony and reception venue, hair and makeup by Lace Cosmetics, flowers by the beautiful Holland Daze, and cake by Peche Petite, their medieval themed fairytale wedding came to fruition. See their day unfold with a first look, ceremony, medieval-inspired sword fight, and elegant reception. And wait til you see the wedding cake — it’s on our list of top ten favorites!
Fairytale Wedding: Erin & Tim
The talented Melissa Prosser captured this wedding beautifully from start to finish. She tells us, “Erin & Tim hosted a truly unique wedding day at the Chattahoochee Nature Center for a springtime wedding. The couple encouraged their guests to come dressed in their favorite costume (be that lady, lord, or even Maleficent!) and had fairytale nods all over the day. They chose to do a first look which allowed them some time to capture some stunning images together around the property. The centerpieces even had some of our favorite Harry Potter houses such as Slytherin! A true favorite moment was when the couple entered the reception, they had a sword fight! Of course the couple won and were able to enter their reception as the Lord and Lady of the hour.”
We love how Erin and Tim decided on a “first look” before the ceremony. We recommend doing this for your big day, too: it’s a sweet way to see each other in a private setting before the ceremony begins. It’s also a great opportunity for candid photos of just the two of you.
Married!
Their floral wedding arch was so beautiful — take a closer look:
Erin and Tim even had a sword fight before the ceremony:
They were obviously victorious. :)
After the ceremony, they held a beautiful outdoor reception. Here’s how they decked out their whimsical reception venue with fairytale wedding details:
For a fairytale wedding, creativity is key. The goal is to create a romantic and inviting atmosphere with lots of nature-inspired elements. Erin and Tim positively nailed it; look around at every detail! They didn’t miss a thing.
We love this metal chalice they used at the head table! It reminds us of something you would find at King Arthur’s round-table.
For a creative twist, they used Harry Potter houses instead of table numbers. What a fun idea!
I love their table settings:
Of all the fairytale weddings I’ve seen, this cake is ultimately the prettiest. Wow — it’s so intricate, right down to the pedestal!
The happy couple!
Congrats, Erin and Tim! We wish you so much happiness!

Happy Planning!
