Connecticut Backyard Wedding
The bride tells us, “When Frank & I began our wedding plans, we both knew we wanted an intimate and romantic venue that felt very personal. When my Aunt and Uncle offered their backyard, we were beyond excited and graciously accepted their offer. Frank and I have spent so much time there, during holidays or just having bonfires and cookouts, it always feels like home. From the beginning, I knew I wanted a romantic fairytale in the garden theme. I loved the glam factor of the chandeliers and crystal prisms hanging from the trees while the nature elements encompassed my fiancé. We really wanted to personalize our wedding and focused a lot on the details.”
“With no wedding planner, my mother — who helped execute our vision — worked endlessly to make our day more beautiful than we imagined it would be. She was the brains behind our romantic fairytale dream. She collected fairytale and romance novels, vintage hand mirrors, candles, crystal prisms and frames. She created our centerpieces and designed our ceremony and cocktail space. Her attention to detail was beyond amazing. We had an unbelievable amount of help from family and friends. My uncle built us a pergola for the ceremony and a bar for the reception. Friends and family helped bake homemade cookies, sew bridal party robes, package s’mores, create wedding signs, and a million other details that were done with love. My fiancé was very hands on, slicing wood for centerpieces and name settings, making our moss mason jar table numbers, and assembling and hanging chandeliers. We created our own programs, wedding menus, and framed prints for an extra personal touch.”
“While the hours leading up to the ceremony were a whirlwind, as everyone warned me it would be, I felt much more relaxed when I first saw Frank for our ‘first look’. We were hesitant about seeing each other before the ceremony but I loved the personal time we got to spend together. That afternoon, we were married by a family friend in front of 130 close friends and family. We danced the night away in the tree filled tent, under the chandeliers. Our hearts were bursting with not only our love for each other, but the enormous amount of love we felt from celebrating with family and friends. Our perfect night ended with late night s’mores, pizza, and happily ever after.”

Wonderful pictures! I loved the whole concept. The last picture where the couple kisses each other with firework in hand is awesome!
What an adorable couple!
I really like the idea of personalized hangers for the bridal party.
