Around here, we’re crazy over details, creative wedding themes, and ultra-fun ways to put your own personal touch on your big day. today’s topic: fishing themed wedding ideas! And let me tell you, there’s not a single theme we can’t turn into an ultra-stylish party, with just enough creativity to make it all seamlessly blend together. So when Mia wrote to us about her fiance, Tom, and his love for fishing, we were all over it. We couldn’t wait to answer her question and prove that she could wow him with a few fishing themed wedding ideas thrown into the mix that he’ll love — without compromising the stylish wedding of her dreams. She writes,
“My fiance and I are planning an August wedding and he LOVES fishing. He goes fishing as often as he can and I’ve even started fishing with him. I want to surprise him with a few fishing details, without it turning into a fishing themed wedding or going overboard. Any ideas on what I can do?”
Not only is it possible, but it’s also so easy to do!
First, plan your engagement shoot around an outdoorsy / fishing theme, complete with a tackle box that has your wedding date on it. You can have this photo printed onto a postcard and sent to guests as your save the date. (Save the date cards are less formal and do not need to follow any sort of theme or palette, which means you don’t have to necessarily follow it up with a fishing invitation). ;)
