If you’d like to decorate your centerpieces with lanterns, you’ve come to the right place! Using candle lanterns as wedding centerpieces is a beautiful choice that fits into nearly any theme, during any season, and is easy to accent with flowers, wood slices, and greenery. And don’t forget gauze table runners!
But as you may have guessed, lanterns can be pricey when you buy them individually. I was shopping at Target and found the cuuuuutest lantern but it was $39 each, which would make the centerpieces pretty expensive (you still have to add a candle and coordinating accents). And at 15 tables as a rough estimate, the budget can pretty much fly off the handle right there. :)
That is why we’re letting you in on a helpful secret: where to buy lanterns in bulk for wedding centerpieces. These cheap, yet quality, lanterns look great on tables, down the aisle, or to deck out your outdoor reception space.
From what sizes to use to what finishes are available, we’ve found everything you need for picture-perfect lanterns that will look amazing. And in case you need it, read this post on candles to get them at a great price (and find out the difference between ordinary candles and the kind you really need for weddings).
What size of lanterns should I buy?
For centerpieces, you should aim for 9″ to 14″ lanterns to use as centerpieces. They’re not too big to make it difficult for guests to talk across the table, yet not too small where they won’t make a statement.
If you’re buying wedding lanterns in bulk for favors, that’s a different story: these mini-sized lantern favors are tiny and that’s for a good reason. You don’t want them to take away from your centerpiece as the focal point, and they are small enough to be easy to take-home for guests.

As an added note, if you have a little extra time between the ceremony and the reception, feel free to use your lanterns as aisle decor for the ceremony, then ask your day-of coordinator, venue staff (if held at the same location), or someone that is willing to help out (a friend, cousin, etc.) move the lanterns to the reception space and place them as centerpieces. The lanterns needn’t be placed at the end of each aisle, but on every-other aisle instead (so it does not overwhelm the aisle space).
Here’s where to bulk buy lanterns for wedding aisle and centerpiece decor, along with outdoor wedding lanterns, white lanterns, and even wedding lanterns for sale — for a limited time. :) Enjoy!
Wedding Lanterns Bulk
Let’s kick off the fun with these vintage-inspired centerpiece lanterns. These are darling!
1. Antique Wedding Lanterns
These beautiful antique-inspired lanterns are available in white or black. I love the unique distressed look on these, perfect for a vintage-inspired, shabby chic, or rustic wedding. If you buy in bulk, they are as low as $10.60 each — a steal compared to others we’ve seen just like it. By Beau-coup. Available here.
2. Wood Lanterns in Bulk
I LOVE these. They are handmade for your wedding and are the best place to buy bulk wedding lanterns on Etsy, IMO. If you’re planning a rustic wedding, country wedding, outdoor backyard wedding, etc., do not miss the opportunity to use these beautiful lanterns as centerpieces. They’ll look great as home decor afterward (and you can give out extras to close family members as a memento!) By GFTWoodcraft.
They make these with centerpieces in mind, offering you great pricing on wedding lanterns in bulk size. If you need fewer, that’s okay, too! You can buy wedding lanterns in bulk or individually-priced in their shop.
Accent with flowers, your monogram (so it shines through the light!), succulents or airplants (buy them here at wholesale pricing), or leave as-is with a single candle. It will look lovely any way you choose to decorate it.
As a bonus, you can get these painted/stained to suit your individual style. This lantern looks pretty in a soft blue!
3. Metal Lanterns
For a decorative lantern that can be used indoors or outdoors, this metal style makes a great choice. It measures around 11″ and has a locking door for the candle and a handle for hanging. These work well for centerpieces and are not priced for bulk, but they are under $20 each and you can get fast 2-day shipping free, so that’s where you save a bit of money. These also boast positive reviews… always a good thing. By JHYDesign.
4. Ornate Lanterns
Want larger centerpieces? These wedding lanterns are 12.8″ without counting the handle (which makes it a 14″ size lantern) and look elegant for centerpieces and aisle decor. Choose white or black to coordinate with your decor. From Beaucoup, get it here.
5. Gold
These are smaller-sized lanterns, but if you’re grouping two lanterns together, these sizes work in unison. To create this look for your centerpieces, place two gold lanterns — one small, one medium — together as shown. I like placing them on these round wood slices to add dimension and texture; fill with candles or, as you see here, succulents. Love this look for boho weddings!
6. White Lanterns in Bulk
A white lantern like this looks elegant accompanied by a bit of greenery atop a wood slice, as shown By Beau-coup. See it here.
7. Rustic Woode
I attended a bridal shower that used these exact lanterns and they were gorgeous! I always love anything that Stonebriar offers on their site: the candles, lanterns, and more are always of the utmost quality. Get it here.
8. Bronze
These are priced at $20 each, but here’s the kicker: you get a candle included inside each one, plus free shipping on your order of $49+. That equates to discounted pricing, so buying them in bulk for centerpieces shouldn’t be too pricey. They measure 11″ tall and work well for round or rectangular tables. By Lights.com. See them here.
9. Mini Silver Lanterns
You can create centerpieces with these mini lanterns in bulk at Lights.com, shown in silver (but also available in gold). You can get a set of 6 of these with a battery included in each, which are used in lieu of candles here to create a warm glow and a cool holographic effect. By Lights.com, get them here.
10. Mercury Glass Lanterns
Ah, mercury glass: is there a prettier lantern style? I love these and would use them for my own wedding! You can get a set of 4 for only $32, which makes these only 8 bucks a-piece. They are battery-powered: just add 3 AAA batteries to each (buy them in a huge quantity here for cheap). By Lights.com. Get them here.
BONUS: Geometric Glass Lanterns
If you prefer a geometric style for a modern wedding, these lanterns are perfect — and they’re priced perfectly for bulk buys. This pentagon geometric lantern looks elegant with a small plant inside or a candle; available in black, gold, or copper, all shown below.
