Winter Wedding Colors
1. Red and Green
For our wedding, our church had beautiful green wreaths with red bows, a Christmas tree, all nicely decorated, and red poinsettias on the altar. Since our colors were red and gold (with hints of green, due to these decorations and, well, ’tis the season), it helped a lot when we were planning our decorations. We chose mistletoe kissing balls/pomanders in green with hints of light green berries and red velvet ribbon handles, which hung on the outside of the altars.
For every other row, we alternated between the mistletoe kissing balls and faux evergreen swag, which featured a little spruce, fir, and red ribbon to tie it all together.
The bridesmaids wore red dresses and the groomsmen wore red ties to match.
Our centerpieces had red roses submerged in water inside tall vases. The team at Viviano was truly amazing.
So, if you’re getting married in December (or even late November) and you want my two cents on easy winter wedding colors, opting for red and gold with hints of green is fantastic. :)

While many couples choose pops of red and/or green during December (raises hand from her own December wedding), you can get married in December without making it a holiday celebration. However, keep in mind that most venues are already decorated for Christmas, so tying in the same color palette is going to work largely to your advantage.
2. Emerald Green and Gold
One of the most popular winter wedding colors 2023 couples are choosing involves a bold metallic — gold! — and rich emerald green. This palette is perfect for November through January.
3. Ivy Blue and Silver
From January through February, we always see an uptick in blue and silver winter wedding colors, especially with invites and stationery that look this inviting!

4. Navy and Gold or Rose Gold
Planning a New Years’ Eve celebration? Partying into January like Gatsby? Opt for black and gold winter wedding colors with themes like Art Deco for a one-of-a-kind celebration.

Alternate: we’re also seeing a huge uptick in navy blue during January, paired with a metallic, most notably, rose gold. I love this combination!
5. Silver and White
A snowflake-inspired motif goes great with silver and white as winter wedding colors 2023 and beyond!
6. Rustic Brown and White
And last but not least, a rustic and minimalist style that is always a great trend is rustic kraft brown with hints of white or even silver. Think: snowy motif and woodsy charm, burlap accents, wood slice centerpieces, etc.
So, which of these winter wedding color ideas is your favorite trend? I’ll always adore red and green for obvious reasons, but my second favorite is the navy and gold color combination. It works well for so many different themes from modern to vintage!
Happy Planning! More coming up next!
