Wedding Table Names
You should choose one type or category of table names and run with it! Here are the best, most loved and tried-and-true favorites. Just make sure you choose a category that has enough names for your entire reception. If I was getting married today, I would definitely pick table names.
1. Significant Months of the Year
When did you meet? When did you get engaged? You can seat guests at tables like May or August, December or January, depending on which months have significance to you. You can even include a blurb on the table card that tells why… like, “August: The month when Benjamin proposed to Rachel”, or, “December: Anthony’s favorite month of the year because he loves Christmas.”
2. Married Couples in History
You can name tables after married couples that you admire. Choose couples that are, obviously, still goin’ strong. ;) Add a little personalization with names of couples in your family and your partner’s family. It will be a nice surprise to show couples you admire in your own circle!
3. Favorite Date Locations
Did you meet at Bosco’s? Have a date at Cafe Verona? Pick pumpkins at Blake’s? Wear your best dress at The Whitney downtown? Name your tables after places you went on your favorite dates together.
4. Different Types of Wine
Ooh, this one is fun for a wine themed wedding! Merlot, Chardonnay, Moscato, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio… I could go on. Ha! If you have a favorite winery, go ahead and name the tables after the names of their most popular labels.
For instance, there’s a winery in Downtown Romeo (um the cutest place on earth, it’s basically Star’s Hollow) by me called Village Winery and they have one called “Benjamin Block Red”. It’s named after a street in town and it is delicious.
5. Movies You’ve Seen Together or Favorite Movie Couples
Huge fans of Harry Potter? Obsessed with Rom Coms? I’ll be seated at Sleepless In Seattle, please — my fave! Name your tables after movies that you enjoy together, or even separately, like Andrew’s obsession with Big Trouble in Little China or mine with You’ve Got Mail. (I don’t care if it is Seattle or New York, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are the best.)
6. If You Attended College Together, Names of Buildings on Campus
Or places you frequented on campus, like local eateries or coffee shops or the name of the library.
6. Travel Plans
